An announcement this afternoon by the S.C. House Speaker states the South Carolina Supreme Court today affirmed the decision of a federal panel of judges that found S.C.’s redistricting plans to be “fair, just and within the guidelines of the Voting Rights Act.” Speaker Bobby Harrell, a Republican, called a legal challenge to the plans by the chairman of the state Democrats “a frivolous, poorly-guided last ditch effort of political motive.”
