The College of American Pathologists has given a thumbs-up to Oconee Medical Center’s main laboratory—based on the results of a recent inspection as part of the accreditation programs of the national organization. The OMC facility director, Dr. Janice Lage, was advised of this national recognition and congratulated for the excellence of the services being provided. The federal government recognizes the lab accreditation program, begun early in the 1960s, as being equal-to-or-more-stringent than the government’s own inspection program.
