Driving S.C. 11, the Cherokee Foothills Scenic Highway, from Fair Play to Gaffney, is one thing. Walking that route seems unimaginable. But an Oconee sheriff’s officer intends to do just that, for a good cause. Norman Dukes, school resource officer at Tamassee-Salem/Middle/High School, is seeking financial pledges to go toward Tamassee-Salem’s transition class (Special Needs Program) to help pay for student transportation to class events, such as swimming lessons.
