Office workers make it a career

October 3, 2012

A couple of office workers at West Union’s major manufacturer have made it a career with their employer. At the same time, Itron’s Sue Gray and Judy Raines see their work as being part of a family that extends from the workplace to the local community. As director of human resources, Sue Gray has become intimately familiar with the hundreds and thousands of electric meter employees who’ve walked through the doors of her plant, whether it was Sangamo Electric, Schlumberger, or Itron of today. For Judy Raines, her start at the large manufacturing complex came after high school in the mid 1960s. Raines and Gray’s employer, Itron, marks 50 years next week at its West Union operations.
