Michelin North America announced a $200 million expansion today at its Starr manufacturing plant in Anderson County. The expansion is being pursued to increase Michelin’s output of rubber compound material used to build tires in North America. And the company expects to create more than 100 new jobs. Construction has begun on the Starr plant expansion, adjacent to the current facility. Also nearby is Michelin’s previously-announced Earthmover tire plant that is being built and scheduled to begin making tires later this year.
