Oconeeans have an invitation to meet and hear their state lawmakers, just as a new legislative year begins in Columbia. The annual public meeting of the state’s resident lawmakers is set for 5 o’clock Monday evening, January 14 at the Westminster Depot, 135 E. Main Street, Westminster, according to Senator Thomas Alexander, delegation chairman. To be placed on the agenda for the purpose of addressing the delegation, you are asked to call the Delegation Office at 864/638-4237. All requests for the agenda must be received by noon Friday, January 11. Besides Alexander, Oconee’s resident state lawmakers are Bill Whitmire and Bill Sandifer, the District One and District Two House members.
