Seneca Mayor Dan Alexander

Mayor Dan Alexander of Seneca is suggesting the way to fill the need for a swimming pool is to look beyond city limits and embrace the approach taken by the group working to establish an indoor pool to be operated by the Oconee County YMCA. Alexander told city council last night the “Y” is looking at property in Bountyland community, just north of the city limit. The mayor indicated he was motivated by the reality of what Seneca would have to spend if it went about a new swimming pool on its own. The council assented to the mayor’s request to invite a “Y representative, as well as a commercial provider of splash pads which Alexander thinks might be an ideal feature at the Shaver Recreation Complex.
