Hearing in Oconee murder case

A hearing is set this afternoon in Anderson in a case of double homicide last year in a rural part of Oconee County. The case is titled, State versus Nicholas Bonelli. The 86-year old defendant is charged with murder in the deaths of 82-year old Clarine Smith, with whom Bonelli shared a home on the Smith Farm Road, and Smith’s 63-year old niece, Sandra Smith Myers. In arrest warrant affidavits, Bonelli is accused of stabbing both women November 2 at 350 Smith Farm Road.
