Giants force Game 7

The San Francisco Giants and the defending World Series champion St. Louis Cardinals are headed to a deciding Game 7 in the National League Championship Series after the Giants beat the Cardinals 6-1 Sunday night in San Francisco to even up the series at 3-3. It was the second straight game that the Giants had won to stave off elimination, after winning 5-0 on Friday. Giants starting pitcher Ryan Vogelsong put in a stellar seven innings, giving up just four hits and one run and striking out career-high nine. Game 7 will be played Monday night in San Francisco, with the winner to face the Detroit Tigers in the World Series.
