Tuesday night’s Game 7 of the National League Championship Series in San Francisco was a do-or-die match-up that turned out not to have much suspense, as the San Francisco Giants routed the defending World Series champion St. Louis Cardinals 9-0 to win the NLCS four games to three. The winning out came in a driving downpour, and the Giants celebrated on their home field in the rain. The Giants had been down 3-1 in the series before coming back to get the league title and advance to the World Series, where they’ll play the Detroit Tigers. Game 1 will be played Wednesday in San Francisco.
