Gamecocks, Tigers rise in AP Poll

Alabama sits atop the Associated Press college football poll released Sunday, with LSU and Southern California trading off the No. 2 and 3 spots. Oregon, Oklahoma, Florida State and Georgia are ranked 4-7 in order, with South Carolina and West Virginia checking in at the 8 and 9 spots. Michigan State rounds out the Top-10. Arkansas falls out of the Top 25 from #8 following a loss to Louisiana-Monroe on Saturday. The Gamecocks (2-0) moved up one spot to No. 8 in the poll following a 48-10 win over East Carolina (1-1) on Saturday afternoon. It’s Carolina’s highest A.P. ranking since they checked in at No. 6 after defeating North Carolina in 2007. Clemson climbs from #12 to #11 in the AP poll following its 52-27 win over Ball Saturday afternoon at Memorial Stadium.
