A third-year drummer in the Walhalla High School Marching Band will benefit from a band fundraiser to help offset medical expenses he’ll incur for treatment for a cancerous brain tumor. Alex “Skeeter” Smith’s doctors are researching to find the right surgery, the best doctor at the best location for Alex. Band supporter Nancy James is asking everyone to buy a hot dog plate or drop off a donation for the 10th grader from 10 a-m to 2 p-m Saturday, February 16 at Walhalla Tire and Service, across from the Steak House.
