Now is the time to get vaccinated to protect yourself and your family against influenza. Inoculations administered by the county health department begin Monday, October 8 at the Seneca Health Department at 609 N. Townville Street. They are available by appointment only on selected days in October through the 30th. For an appointment, call 882-2245. This appears to be the last flu season during which health department-administered vaccine will be available to the general public. Dr. Linda Bell, interim state epidemiologist, says, “….starting with the 2013-14 flu season, our clinics will focus their limited resources on residents who are uninsured, underinsured, or cannot receive their vaccination elsewhere.”
