At last, a baseball story in which the umpire is the hero. Major League Baseball umpire Jim Joyce successfully performed CPR on an employee of the Arizona Diamondbacks before the Miami Marlins game on Sunday night. He saved her life by his quick action after she suffered a seizure in the tunnel that leads to the umpires’ dressing room at Chase Field just 90 minutes before the first pitch. Joyce, 56, continued CPR until paramedics arrived.
