Walhalla High School students are expected to pack Davenport Funeral Home tonight, as the family of their late classmate, Alex Smith, receives friends from 5 until 8 p-m. Alex, at the age of 15, died Sunday after having been diagnosed with a brain tumor. At school, Alex was a band member. A recent hot dog sale in town raised around $10 thousand to assist in medical bills. He was facing six weeks of treatments. The funeral for Alex Wayne Smith will be 4 p-m Wednesday at Rocky Knoll Baptist Church.
