In Pickens County, 19 people have been arrested on various drug charges spelled out in 66 warrants. The charges include the sale of marijuana, sale of a controlled substance, and sale within proximity to a school or a daycare. According to an announcement by the Pickens County Sheriff’s Department, eleven of yesterday’s arrests are Clemson University students. Law enforcement authorities say they have seized $6,351 in cash, nearly 300 grams of high-grade marijuana, a handgun reported stolen, three long guns, and various equipment, including a professional grade ID card machine capable of placing a hologram on ID cards. The authorities say the machine was used to make false identification cards. The arrests arise from a six-month joint investigation by agents with the Pickens and Oconee sheriff’s offices, Clemson campus police, Clemson city police, and the State Law Enforcement Division.
