The Greater Walhalla Area Chamber of Commerce has given Paul Raines permission to stage “Week of Christmas” events on the Green, at the downtown corner of Main and N. Catherine. But the chamber has attached some conditions, including a certificate of insurance with $1 million worth of liability coverage. Raines says he has concerns and will speak publicly tomorrow about the conditioned approval. Raines, working with choir director Larry LeCroy, has hopes to assemble a mass choir to sing Christmas hymns on the Green during the last two weeks leading up to Christmas which, this year, falls on a Wednesday. He’s hoping to involve as many as 35 local and area churches.
