If you happened to have missed last night’s membership dinner and awards night, sponsored by the Oconee Chamber of Commerce, here’s what you missed: chicken cordon bleu, asparagus, roasted potato, salad, and dessert. But the meal served to about 100 people gathered at the Gignilliat Center wasn’t the only reason to attend, according to Sandra Jones, chamber executive director. There was an uplifting talk by author Steve Edwards as well as the announcement of this year’s awards.
