A former government servant and lifelong Oconee resident has been named interim executive director of the Oconee County Chamber of Commerce at Seneca. Billy Boylston worked in Republican Party circles at last year’s national convention and then for the Romney-Ryan campaign. Previous to that, he worked on Capitol Hill for Congressmen Jeff Duncan of South Carolina and Ted Poe of Texas. “Billy has an understanding of the needs of business and the role an effective Chamber of Commerce plays in the development and promotion of a healthy business community,” said Hunter Kome, Chairman of the Oconee Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. “We appreciate him working with us while we search for a permanent executive director.”
