Arrest made in truck theft

Oconee sheriff’s officers have arrested a 52-year old man in the investigation of a work truck stolen last week from a contractor’s office. Law enforcement records show Gregory Asvyle Bates of the Stamp Creek Landing Road charged with the theft of a 1991 Ford flatbed work truck and malicious injury to personal property at Hutch ‘N Son Construction office, W. Main Street, West Union. During the night time incident August 24-25, according to a sheriff’s report, the stolen truck was used to break through a gate and fence at the construction company office.
