If the weather on the second Saturday in October is good this year, you can expect as many as 300 or more people to pass through the doors of the Keowee Fire Department. The annual open house takes place 10 a-m to 2 p-m October 13. Assistant Chief Brandon Shirley says the biggest hits are always the demonstrations, the MedTrans helicopter, and the display of the static equipment. They will also have fire extinguishers for sale, smoke detectors, Blue Ridge Security vendors, and barbecue plates for sale.
