Oconeeans wishing to vote absentee in person are being reminded the deadline to cast a ballot inside the Oconee County Council chambers at Walhalla is 5 p-m Monday, the eve of the general election. If you can meet any of the 15 criteria for voting absentee, you may complete an application and cast your ballot. Absentee balloting by mail is permitted. Because of the late date, the state election commission, advises absentee voters to use the mail method only if absolutely necessary.
